If you develop a cavity or break a tooth, then it’s extremely important to have it repaired right away. The teeth can’t heal themselves, and left alone, even a minor dental problem can eventually turn into a big problem that affects the entire body. Fortunately, Dr. Langston can make any type of dental damage virtually disappear using our restorative services. If you’re ready to put your dental issues behind you and enjoy a healthy, confident smile again, contact Long Creek Dental today.
The best way to fix a minor cavity involves removing the decayed enamel and then filling the space. Instead of using amalgam to do this (which contains mercury), we instead rely on a biocompatible resin. This material is more flexible and allows us to preserve more healthy enamel during placement, plus it comes in a variety of natural shades that allow us to blend the restoration with the tooth, ensuring it doesn’t stick out in the smile.
If a tooth is severely damaged or has a large cavity, rather than removing it, we can simply cover it with a custom-made crown. This will allow the tooth to function normally while also protecting the remaining enamel and restoring its original appearance. Crowns can also be used to support dental bridges, which offer an effective way to replace one to three missing teeth in a row, enabling a patient to eat, speak, and smile like they did before tooth loss.
While other dental practices will make you visit them twice to get a dental crown, we’re able to complete the treatment in one efficient appointment thanks to CEREC technology. It allows Dr. Langston to design your crown, mill it from porcelain, and place it all in a matter of hours. This enables patients to get the care they need in record time without compromising on quality. When it comes to aesthetics and durability, our CEREC crowns rival any made by an outside lab.
