Biocompatible Materials

When we say that we use biocompatible materials, what do we mean? Biocompatible materials are those that work well with your oral structures, preventing any possible problems that can arise from using non-compatible materials. A great example of a biocompatible material is composite resin, which offers an alternative to silver amalgam fillings. Silver amalgam fillings don’t work as well with the teeth, leading to problems several years after placement that you won’t experience with biocompatible composite resin fillings. Composite resin fillings are also mercury-free, making them a more healthful option for your restorative dentistry. Porcelain is another biocompatible material we use to create your dental restorations at the dental office of William B. Langston III, D.D.S., and with CEREC technology, we can craft your porcelain dental restorations and place them in a single visit.

Ceramic Dental Implants

Dental implants are a remarkable tooth replacement option, and many dental offices offer them. However, most dentists only provide implants made out of a titanium alloy. While titanium is extremely strong, it does lead to adverse reactions in some patients. Dr. Langston’s heavy focus on holistic care means that he offers ceramic dental implants instead. They come with no risk of metal allergies, require fewer surgeries than titanium implants, and even offer superior aesthetics.
