COVID-19 Dental Safety & Sterilization

Our Commitment to Your Safety

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, now more than ever before, keeping environments sanitary is critical. It’s important especially for dental and medical practices to use advancements in technology to take health and safety protocols to the next level moving forward.

At Long Creek Dental, holistic dentist Dr. William Langston has gone well above and beyond other dental providers in the area by purchasing state-of-the-art sanitation technology. His COVID-19 safety protocol includes the use of a UV sanitizing light, extraoral suction, HEPA air filtration, and a Victory electrostatic sprayer.

UV Sanitation

Similar to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, UV sanitization lighting degrades the delicate chemical bonds of COVID-19 and other coronaviruses. By having this lighting available in the office, the Long Creek Dental team is able to effectively kill living cells in the operatory after each aerosol-producing procedure. This chemical-free method is eco-friendly and especially helpful for those with sensitivity to cleaning solutions.

Extraoral Suction

Although most dental practices use intraoral suction to reduce the number of particulates, saliva, and other droplets entering the air, few utilize the latest technology in extraoral suction. Dr. Langston has brought in the AirJR Extraoral Suction System to remove viruses, germs, and tiny bits of saliva and blood in the air that can otherwise spread throughout the operatory, land on the staff members’ or patients’ clothing, or be breathed in.

HEPA Air Filtration

HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air. Air purification systems with a HEPA designation are able to filter out at least 99.97 percent of particles that measure 0.3 microns — that is the particle size most likely to bypass other types of air filtration systems. HEPA filters work alongside other mechanisms to ensure that the air in Dr. Langston’s office is as clean and safe as possible.

Electrostatic Disinfection

Manually powered chemical spraying separates cleaning solutions into tiny droplets to cover surfaces, but Victory Sprayers’ patented technology provides an electrical charge to solutions, making these droplets even smaller for more consistent coverage. As a result, the Long Creek Dental team can disinfect more surface area, like an entire operatory, in a short amount of time between each patient.

Patients don’t have to risk their health when undergoing dental treatment. With these advanced sterilization measures in place, the Long Creek Dental office is one of the safest places to visit!
